This scanning electron microscopy study was conducted to examine the morphological characteristics of a number of representatives of diatom algae of the genus Navicula (N. amphiceropsis, N. capitatoradiata, N. gregaria) from the phytobenthos of the Kilmez River. Some of the quantitative characteristics studied (valve width, number of striae and lineolae in 10 μm) and the analysis of literature data showed their greater variability, what needs to be considered when conducting algological research.
