Historical memory policy in Russia and its implementation in the Komi Republic (based on the «Family Home» project)
Abstract and keywords
Abstract:
The paper considers the problem of preserving historical memory in Russia and locally - in the Ust-Tsilma region of the Komi Republic. The transmission of family memory among the Bespopovtsy Old Believers of Ust-Tsilma is a little-studied problem, the relevance of which has increased significantly in the XXI century. It has been established that a project-based approach, involving interaction and social partnership between the public organization “Rus Pechorskaya” and government bodies, is an effective tool for patriotic education of youth. This approach combines traditional and innovative approaches to educating the younger generation. The study emphasizes the importance of studying family heritage and uniting its representatives within the “Family Home” project, established in the Ust-Tsilma region of the Komi Republic in 2004. The project participants’ activities consist of two components: the creation of a family tree with the presentation of the ancestral home and the creation and operation of a family museum, which is positioned not as a social institution, but as a product of human creativity. The objects displayed in them reflect the individuality of a particular clan/family, their value system and aesthetic views, designed to draw attention to the historical and cultural heritage of the family and region, as well as the history of Russia as a whole. It has been determined that family museums in Russia contribute to a deep understanding of the connection between family history and the history of the country. Interest in family history contributes to the formation of civil and confessional identity, fosters patriotism, and preserves historical memory.
